Projects like GIMPS are significantly faster with X3D chips, so is it the same with NFS? If not, then give me some projects that do benefit off of X3D chips.

Give it a go. Compare your average daily output with other computers. Install Linux and it will fly on NFS.

It is my understanding that the X3D chips have larger L2 /L3 caches than
other chips. NFS strongly depends on the ability to pull data through the cache. I expect these chips to perform well.
